Austin Cruises on the Lakes

Capital Cruises…Excursions are offered on Lady Bird Lake and Lake Austin for sunset and bat watching.  Pontoon paddle boat, canoe and kayak rentals are also available  Departs from the Hyatt Regency dock on Lake Bird Lake at 208 Barton Springs Road.  Reservations Recommended.

Lone Star Riverboat…Paddle wheeler offers a one hour narrated and scenic tour of Lady Bird  Lake  OpenMarch through October and departs from the dock between the Hyatt Regency and Hotel and South First Street Bridge on Lady Bird Lake.

Motorized Austin Tours

Austin Duck Adventures…Tour historic sites and scenic streets of Austin and then, in the same vehicle, splash into Lake Austin for a leisurely cruise.  Tours depart from the Austin Visitor Center.  Located at 209 E. Sixth St.  Admission Charge.

Austin Overtures Sightseeing…”Austin in 90 Minutes” is a narrated van tour of more than 30 historical and cultural attractions on a 30 mile route.  Tour passes by historic downtown, State Capitol, the UT Campus and East Austin, plus provides a scenic drive to the edge of the Hill Country.  Daily tours from the Austin Visitor Center  Located at 209 E. Double Decker Austin… This double decker bus offers the city’s only hop on/hop off, guided sightseeing tour.  Venue encourages self exploration of the city.   Admission Charge.

Walking Austin Tours

Explore the city with a walking tours .  These self guided Austin tours allow visitors to explore the city at their own pace and stop where they want along the guided route. Brochures available at the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Congress Avenue and East Sixth St. Tour… This 10 block National Register Historic District tour weaves through downtown, revealing the history of Congress Avenue.  It continues along the nine block Sixth Street district and highlights Victorian architecture dating back to the mid 1800’s.

Bremond Block Tour…Walk through a block in downtown that was once considered one of the most eminent neighborhoods owned by a single family. John Bremond Sr. family patriarch, successfully built this block with Victorian houses and lush landscapes.

The Driskill Hotel… Built in 1886 by cattle baron Col. Jesse L. Driskill.  Tour the beautiful corridors and spaces and learn legends and facts abut Driskill and his family..  At Sixth and Brazos Street.

Hyde Park Tour… Take a self guided tour of the Victorian and bungalow style homes along tree shaded streets in this historic neighborhood.  Elisabet Ney built her studio here Hyde Park is north of downtown and the University of Texas, roughly between 38th and 45th streets.
